Founded in 2020 by John Smith, Ruimen® has come a long way from its beginnings in a small workshop in California. When John first began handcrafting watches in his garage, he had a vision of creating stylish yet affordable smart watches that blended seamlessly into people’s lives.
As a mechanical engineer, John has always been fascinated by gadgets and technology. He dreamed of designing intelligent wearable devices that complemented people’s active lifestyles. The creation of Ruimen® has allowed John to turn his passion into a fulfilling career.
Our Story
The journey began when John created his first smart watch prototype that could track steps, heart rate, and basic fitness metrics. As an avid runner and cyclist, he wanted a multi-sport watch that provided data to optimize workouts without looking overly techie.
When John started showing the watch to friends and family, he received an overwhelmingly positive response. People loved the minimalist yet eye-catching design and were impressed by the functionality.
Encouraged by the feedback, John made the leap into entrepreneurship and officially launched Ruimen®. In the early days, it was just John assembling watches by hand in his garage to fulfill a small number of online orders.
Word started to spread in the active lifestyle community about these unique smart watches. Before long, John brought on a few employees to keep up with growing demand. The company moved out of John’s garage into a small warehouse.
Over the next few years, Ruimen® continued to release innovative products like fitness bands, GPS sport watches, and smart scales. The team grew to over 50 employees. By partnering with manufacturing plants in China, Ruimen® was able to scale production while keeping costs low.
In 2022, Ruimen® opened its flagship retail store and company headquarters in San Francisco. What started as a one-man operation in a garage now empowers over 100 employees to bring John’s vision to life.
But throughout the growth and success, our focus remains the same – create great products that improve people’s lives.
